What's been going on?
I've lots of things to tell you...
Posted by hannahmartin on 15-8-2012 6:42 pm
Well, it's been a while since I updated you on what's been going on in the world of Hannah Martin Flowers!
I had a very exciting June and July working on lots of beautiful weddings all around England, along with some high profile events in London working with new and existing clients such as Mulberry, William & Son and The Bluebird.
First things first...weddings! I have been fortunate to provide some lovely arrangements for some lovely couples and the general trend this year has been pale peach and blush pink which is lucky as these colours look great together and create a very romantic and soft look.
I went to the SS Great Britain with Lizzie and David, Gate Street Barn (where I got married!) with Leah and Bert followed by the elegance of The Bingham Hotel with Georgia and Lee, then onto a muddy field in the Cotswolds for Natasha and Tom's wedding which was a huge contrast to the grandeur of Brocket Hall where Zarina and Niyazi were married although both were beautiful occasions. Phew...I'm exhausted just thinking about it! Some of the photos can be found in the Gallery, however if you'd like to see more then please email me.
I also worked for the first time with William & Son, the luxury goods boutique in Mayfair, and the specialist events company CSA Events, providing flowers for their Summer Parties which were both great fun!
August has been a quiet month (allowing me to watch all of the Olympics!), but it's allowed me to catch up on bits and bobs and to have a good clear out of the studio. I've decided to open the studio as a shop and sell flowers directly to the steady flow of traffic that ambles past every day! It seems to work well, it's amazing how many people pass by every day and pop in to have a nosey at what I'm doing!
September is looking like it's going to be a busy month! I'm really looking forward to it...lots of weddings, private parties and corporate 'dos'! I'm also taking Tillie to the Walton-on-Thames French market which should be good fun. I have also been chosen as the preferred event florist at the brand new Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge! It's quite quiet there at the moment but as soon as people find out how amazing the hotel is then I'm sure to be rushed off my feet!
Looking forward to telling you all about it over the next couple of weeks!

The Medicine Garden
A well kept secret in Cobham!
Posted by hannahmartin on 3-5-2012 12:33 pm
When I first discovered the Medicine Garden in Cobham I knew that I wanted to be part of their dream!
After meeting with the owner, Paul, and his retail manager, Joanna, it was very easy to see their passion to create a destination where people leave feeling better about themselves! The Victorian walled garden was discovered by Paul in 2006 and repaired and restored by him and his team to create a beautiful and inspirational space. So alongside the Hothouse Cafe, The Larder farm shop (@thelardercobham), the Treatment Room and the Garden Shop, I will be selling flowers with Tillie every Wednesday morning from now on....very exciting!!
My first day was a great success, and I had a lot of fun meeting the local community and watching the Wednesday morning Boot Camp and Hot Yoga classes from afar! They really work them hard there...
My first customer was Sally, who provides aromatherapy massages every Wednesday afternoon in the Treatment Room, and she left with a big bunch of garden lilac, peonies and delicious eucalyptus leaves.
I am also participating in the Food Festival at the Medicine Garden this forthcoming Bank Holiday Monday from 10 - 5pm...come and see me!
Follow the Medicine Garden on Twitter (@medicinegarden) or visit their website www.themedicinegarden.com for more information.
See you there soon!

Spring in the city
Filled with pink cherry blossom!
Posted by lovenomblog on 24-4-2012 3:25 pm
Well, what a busy (and very exciting!) few weeks I've had!
After a successful trip to the vase warehouses in Aalsmer in Holland, the decision was made to move me out of the shed and into a studio down by the river in Walton-on-Thames. The peaceful view over the river is amazing and thankfully it's next door to The Anglers pub, so my hard-working assistant/husband and I were able to reward ourselves after every one of the 300 or so cardboard boxes were unpacked and stacked on shelves. I bought lots of beautiful containers, vases and props to use at the weddings already booked in for this year.
My new abode came in very handy during the preparation of my first wedding, and everything (including the mess!) was confined to the four walls of the studio and at the end of each day I locked it all away until I returned for more!
It was an absolute pleasure to provide the flowers for Camilla and Julian's wedding in the City of London last Saturday! Both the church and the venue were filled with gnarly branches of stunning pink cherry blossom with pale pink peonies and roses for simple yet breathtaking displays. I've included a picture in this blog, however there are a lot more in the Gallery section of my website so please take a look!
Other exciting news is that I am due to start working at The Medicine Garden in Cobham next Wednesday, selling flowers from Tillie (my quirky van!). The Medicine Garden is a wonderful place (www.themedicinegarden.com) with the Hothouse Cafe selling delicious homemade food, including cake, and drinks, and The Larder shop which sells tasty produce from the local area. There's also a therapy room for massages and the like, the MakeMe Workshop, Toadstool Parties for the children and much much more, so it's well worth a visit in the near future.
My next wedding is at the end of May in Mayfair, and the colourscheme and look is completely different with shocking pink and bright red flowers with black vases which should provide an explosion of colour!
Come back soon for the next update!
See you then, Hannah
